AFC Group 'D' Qualifiers: Nepal beat Northern Mariana Islands 6-0 in one-sided match

In a thoroughly one-sided match, Nepal beat Northern Mariana Islands 6-0 in their first encounter under the AFC Championship Group 'D' Qualifiers held at Dasharath Stadium in Kathmandu Saturday evening.

Bharat Khawas made a hat-trick while Santosh Saukhala, Raju Tamang and Sandeep Rai scored one goal each.

AFS Challenge Cup Qualifiers Kick off

Group D qualifiers of the Asian Football Confederation's Challenge Cup is due to kick off at the Dasarath Stadium in Kathmandu, on Saturday afternoon.

Hosts Nepal, Northern Mariana Island, Palestine and Bangladesh are all set to battle it out for two places up for grabs at the the AFC's second tier football tournament, to be held in the Maldives in 2014.

The opening match will see Palestine take on Bangladesh. The second of the day's matches will see Nepal play the little-known island nation.
